Free confidential counselling across Deeside Aberdeenshire

Our Services:

  • Offers 10 sessions of free counselling
  • Weekly appointments

How do I make an appointment?

If you are aged 18 and above, and resident in Lower Marr (Deeside), you can make your initial appointment by phoning our confidential number to leave a message. We will discreetly return your call, usually within three working days, to agree an initial meeting. This meeting lasts around 30-60 minutes at which time you can discuss:

  • What has prompted you to seek counselling
  • The kind of help that matches your needs
  • What One to One can offer you, as a client
  • Whether we know of any other more appropriate services

You will then be added to our waiting list and matched with a suitable counsellor as soon as one becomes available.

What is counselling?

During times of distress, or any particularly difficult period in a person’s life, counselling can help people explore matters which may be causing them concern or anxiety in a confidential environment, without being judged.

What kind of counselling?

There are many counselling approaches; at One to One we offer Person-Centred Therapy. This is based on the belief that we all have the potential to grow and change. The relationship between counsellor and client is of primary importance in order for the client to decide their own way forward.

How can it help?

Counselling can help people get a fresh perspective on a particular problem that might be causing distress. It can also help people explore possible solutions or just offer an opportunity to talk confidentially, with someone who is unconnected.

Who are the counsellors?

One to One is made up of an extremely dedicated and experienced team of individuals, many of whom work with us on a voluntary basis.

All of our counsellors are trained, and supervised by approved counselling supervisors. One to One operates according to the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions published by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the main body which accredits and monitors the work of “talking therapists” throughout the UK

What do we offer?

One to One offers 10 sessions of free counselling, usually delivered as weekly appointments. Each session last approximately one hour.
