Mental Health Aberdeen (MHA) was established in 1950, and now comprises of five distinct counselling projects which together provide services to children, young people and adults resident in Aberdeen City and Shire.
Our projects currently deliver a total of 22,000 counselling sessions each year and we never charge for our services. There is a recognized need for counselling services, for individuals to be listened to, heard and understood by trained professionals to provide a confidential, empathetic and non- judgmental space, and we’re proud to provide this to our local community.
During periods of distress or any particularly challenging phase in an individual's life, counselling can assist in exploring matters causing concern or anxiety within a confidential environment, free from judgement.
There are many counselling approaches; at MHA all of our counsellors offer Humanistic Counselling.
To find out more about our services, you can go our Get Support page. If you already know which of our support services you need, you can contact them directly.
